"From the Vat to the Tap, you can’t get much fresher beer than that."

The Brewery

The Kosciuszko brewhouse at The Banjo Paterson Inn, boasts a copper-clad mash tun, lauter and brew kettle and is located in public view at the front of the hotel, adjacent to the hotel’s entrance. (In other words, you can’t miss her!)

Stop by for a cold Kosci Pale Ale or one of our limited edition season ales with Licensee Cameron, Master Brewer Chuck Hahn and assistant brewer Dom.

This 1600-litre microbrewery was started up by master brewer Chuck Hahn in April 2009 as one of his latest brewing ventures after the Hahn Brewery in 1988 and the Malt Shovel brewery in 1998.

The original Kosciuszko Pale is a 4.5% alcohol, slightly cloudy ale that challenges the limits of the traditional Australian Pale Ale. Crafted from a blend of Pale and Munich malts, and brewed using Tasmanian grown Galaxy hops, our pale ale delivers a pleasant maltiness with a refreshing fruity hop finish.

Brewed for enjoyment after a hard day of skiing, hiking, fishing or just relaxing in the mountains, it’s an ale that is always in season. Other special and limited release brews are in the pipeline – Keep your eyes on our socials for details!
